What
is a vinyl deck membrane ?
It is a traffic membrane
available in a roll, usually 6 feet by 75 feet long, similar to linoleum
flooring. The product is glued to the substrate, usually plywood or
concrete. If more then one sheet of membrane is required, seams are
overlapped by approximately 3/4 of an inch and heat welded together with a
hot air tool. It is very durable, available in different colours and
prints, and 100% waterproof.
Where
is the product used ?
Specifically
manufactured for use as a 'pedestrian' walking
surface on areas requiring waterproofing such as; decks, balconies,
rooftop patios, garage roof decks etc..
Why
choose a vinyl deck membrane instead of a 2x4 or 2x6 wood
deck?
How
extensive is the maintenance ?
The only
maintenance required is periodic cleaning which is done using a GLOBAL DEC-K-ING SYSTEMS
cleaner or mild soap, diluted in a bucket of lukewarm water.
A bristle brush with hose or a pressure washer using low pressure can also
be used
If
damaged, can it be repaired ?
Yes, GLOBAL DEC-K-ING
SYSTEMS can be easilly repaired if damaged. Another
piece of the same product can be melted onto the damaged area using our
hot air welder.
What
kind of surface is required for installation of a vinyl deck
membrane?
A solid
surface such as plywood, concrete or fiberglass.
